During my internship at ENIM - École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Monastir, I collaborated with the principal system administrator to modernize the school’s network infrastructure and server room architecture.
Key achievements:
- Migrated the pfSense firewall to a Dell R730 server for improved performance and reliability.
- Enhanced security by refining firewall rule sets, implementing hardware isolation, and reducing unauthorized access.
- Upgraded outdated servers and software environments to meet current standards.
- Configured Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches for more efficient network traffic control.
- Implemented VLANs to optimize network segmentation and reduce broadcast domains.
- Designed a modular and scalable network infrastructure plan for future growth.
- Provided recommendations for long-term network expansion, reliability, and security compliance.
This internship allowed me to gain hands-on experience in network architecture, system hardening, and enterprise-grade infrastructure upgrades, while also exploring how different departments rely on IT systems for their daily operations.
